If you are a maker looking to master making your own moulds for slip casting or wax, this one day workshop will help you develop your skills and improve your production. Plaster part moulds are used in industry to make identical repeatable forms for slip casting ceramics. In the glass casting realm plaster part moulds are used damp to pour repeatable waxes.

You will learn every step of the process of plaster part moulding from the health & safety of using plaster, to recognising undercuts, sectioning a model and registering the moulds. Bring your own medium sized object(s) or work with found forms, in the studio. This hands on workshop will be delivered in a practical, memorable, and friendly atmosphere by Amy. Amy has 13 years experience of teaching mould making skills to students in a University setting and has completed several commissions involving plaster part moulds.

As you progress through out the day, you will pick up tips on how to approach making moulds for other forms. At the end of this full day workshop you will be equipped with the know how and confidence to able to create plaster part moulds for your own practice. And you will have a complete plaster part mould to take home ready for use.

Course dates & times:

Wednesday 3rd of May from 10am to 5pm

This in person workshop will take place in Amy's glass studio at Flameworks with a small group size. All materials will be allocated to you, tea's, coffee's and squash are also included in the workshop days, please bring a packed lunch. There is free on street parking right outside. If you have accessibility issues please contact Amy as her studio is downstairs. There is a kitchen & toilets in Flameworks.

Things to bring along:
* a packed lunch
* an apron
* a medium sized object approx 15cm x 15cm

Under 16's must be accompanied by a full paying adult. Cancellations made more than 2 weeks in advance of the start date are accepted and will receive a refund minus a £20 admin fee. Cancellations made within 2 weeks of the start date are non-refundable unless the space can be filled at short notice.
